VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES
First, we want to take a second to thank all of our wonderful volunteers at St. Helena! As part of the Safe Environment policy, all CYO volunteers, without exception, must complete all necessary background checks and clearances on this page regardless of how frequently you intend to volunteer. Archdiocesan compliance guidelines state that clearances must be submitted prior to the commencement of volunteer service.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES
The following clearances must be obtained by volunteers living in PA continuously for 10 years:
-
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
-
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
-
Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers to be filed at the place of service.
-
Safe Environment Training (Online and Classroom Session)
The following clearances must be obtained by volunteers living in PA for less than 10 years:
-
Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
-
Pennsylvania State Police Clearance
-
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
-
Safe Environment Training (Online and Classroom Session)
All links to required clearances can be found below. Please submit all documents to Jennifer Laub.
CLEARANCE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS
All required clearances must be renewed every five years. Volunteers who have been a resident of Pennsylvania for less than 10 years must renew their FBI Fingerprint clearance until they reach 10 years of residency in Pennsylvania. Once the volunteer meets the 10 year residency requirement, they must complete a Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers which, in turn, must be submitted every five years.
